Spending time with babies really makes my job easy. This little gal couldn’t have worked any better with me, even though before I arrived mom and dad were about ready to call and cancel because she just couldn’t be calmed. More often than not, when parents think the session is not going to go well, it does… I’d like to call myself the baby whisperer- but it didn’t work with my own baby- so I’m not going to take the title. I will however, grant the name ‘baby whisperer’ to my trusty Holmes brand space heater – all of the newborns just can’t resist its calm humming and warm charm. (I realize I am jinxing my next newborn session – and the baby will want nothing to do with me or my silly heater)… There are a couple of tricks that parents can do to help make the baby more content and happy to work with me… first, and most important, schedule the session within the little one’s first 2 weeks of life! The day of, about an hour before I arrive, undress the baby and wrap the baby in a warm blanket, feed the baby, then give the baby to dad. These little ones know when mom is around and definitely associate her with more food and lovin! Not that Dad doesn’t provide these things, but boy, oh boy, do they know their mommas!
Alrighty – here’s some portraits of Miss “L”.
